Museum piece! Prototype for a salon chair by Gerrit Rietveld Jr. 1920 – 1961, son of the famous Dutch designer Gerrit Rietveld Sr. who was part of the ‘De Stijl’ group.

The chair was handmade by Gerrit Rietveld Jr. circa 1955.

It is labeled ‘Rietveld Meubelen Hilversum’ (Rietveld Furniture Hilversum).

A similar chair is part of the collection of the Central Museum in Utrecht, The Netherlands (inventorynr. 27154/001-002).
